ANZAC Day Events

On Monday we gathered as a school community to remember the sacrifice and service of the members of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps, we prayed for all peoples around the world who are currently experiencing war and Grandad Bob reminded us that as the future of this nation, we must never forget the ANZAC Spirit.

Thank you to Councillor Jared Cassidy and Bisma Asif on behalf of Stirling Hinchliffe MP for attending today and a big thank you for all you have done for our community to veterans Bob Konicanin, Brian Cooney and Liam Cooney.

On Thursday 25th April (the ANZAC Day public holiday) we will be participating as a school in the Community March along Brighton Rd, Sandgate. We will gather in the vicinity of Cliff St and Second Avenue from 8:30 am with the March commencing at 9:00 am. Students are to be collected by parents at the front of Sacred Heart following the March. A parent slip will be sent for you to indicate that your child is attending. Please complete this form as it helps with planning for supervision.

There will be a sausage sizzle at Sacred Heart following the March. All are welcome.

Families can also attend the ANZAC Dawn Service commencing at 5 am at the Sandgate War Memorial Park. This event begins in the dark and will conclude by first light.

Please join with the community as we acknowledge the services of members of the armed forces.
